01 — Intro

Stories should not only be watched.
They should be experienced.

MMY Reality is a Wales-born immersive storytelling company creating VR experiences that preserve memory, deepen empathy and bring important stories to life.

Our work is rooted in research, testimony and cultural sensitivity. We use immersive technology not as a gimmick, but as a way to help people feel closer to the histories, identities and lived experiences that shape society.

We combine documentary research, oral history, dramatic reconstruction and immersive technology to help audiences encounter stories in a deeper, more emotional, and more memorable way.

We work with museums, universities, public bodies, cultural organisations, community groups, media organisations and private families.

04 — Approach

From first listening to final headset.

Our process pairs documentary discipline with co-creation. We move slowly at the start so we can build something true at the end.

  1. 01

    Listening & research

Deep archival work, on-the-ground field visits and confidential interviews. We earn the right to tell the story before we begin building it.

  2. 02

    Co-creation

Communities, scholars and contributors shape narrative, language and access from day one — not as reviewers, but as authors alongside us.

  3. 03

    Capture & reconstruction

360° and volumetric capture in the field; sensitive dramatic reconstruction in studio; archival photogrammetry where needed.

  4. 04

    Build & spatial sound

Engine work in Unity / WebXR with bespoke spatial audio scoring — bilingual EN/CY masters, BSL and subtitled tracks delivered as standard.

  5. 05

    Encounter

Headset rollout with full training for invigilators, teachers or curators. We stay with the work — measuring impact and iterating in the field.

05 — In their words
MMY Reality didn't just build us a VR piece. They sat with our community for nine months, learned the names, and made something our grandparents recognised themselves in.
